Job Description

Qualifications/Knowledge:
a
a Must be at least 18 years of age
a
a Knowledge of road construction and maintenance principles
a Knowledge of work safety principles and practices
a Skill in the use of hand and power tools
a Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
a Ability to work in inclement weather conditions as necessary
a Operates a variety of light equipment, machinery and tools in the maintenance and repair of county roads and
drainage systems
a Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including chain saw, weed eater, blower, shovel, rake, limb saw, etc.
a Assists in traffic control at work sites
a Performs pre- trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections; preforms preventive maintenance
a Performs public works construction, maintenance and repair duties; replaces road signs, installs driveways, etc.;
pours, spreads and levels asphalt, concrete and gravel
a Attends department meetings and training sessions
a Performs all other related duties as assigned
